Sure, I’m a bookkeeper and small business finance educator - but really, I’m on a mission to help you ditch the shame, stop second-guessing, and finally feel good about your money.

I believe confidence doesn’t come from being perfect - it comes from clarity. From knowing where your money’s going, how to make it work for you, and not needing a degree in accounting to figure it out.

You didn’t start a business just to feel overwhelmed or unqualified. You started it for freedom - and your finances shouldn’t be the thing holding you back.

MY STORY

I got my start in small business the old-school way - learning the ropes inside my husband’s family business. Back then, I didn’t realize the value of what I was soaking up. I was too young to see the gold in those gritty, behind-the-scenes lessons.

Since then, I’ve worn just about every hat there is: office assistant, office manager, corporate team lead, even wholesale cookie company owner (yes, that’s a real chapter in my story - and yes, it was delicious).

Each role taught me something different - about business, about leadership, and about what really makes things tick behind the scenes.

But it wasn’t until I was leading the onboarding team at an up-and-coming accounting software company (trying to be the anti-QuickBooks) that I found my why.

Every new client came through my team. And I was blown away by how many brilliant, passionate business owners felt completely in the dark when it came to their numbers. They didn’t know what a P&L was. They weren’t sure what to track. And worst of all - they felt like imposters because of it.

I saw the shame, the overwhelm, the “I should already know this” story playing out over and over again. But I also saw courage. Because these were people who had taken the leap - they’d started the business. They’d done the hard thing. And everything else? I could teach them.

So when the company shut down after lots of pivots and bad leadership. I couldn’t stop helping business owners feel empowered with their money.

So I grabbed my coffee, my spreadsheets, and my slightly rebellious spirit - and Kickin Assets was born.
